Rie Rasmussen is Danish. She was born in Copenhagen on Valentine's day (02/14/1978). She grew up in a family of nine children.
At age 15, she decided to move to New York and has continued travelling ever since then.
In 2002 She was selected for a cameo appearance in Brian De Palma's Femme Fatale. Then she became the exclusive worldwide face of Gucci.
When she was 24, she wrote and directed her first short film in which she also played. Thinning the Herd was officially selected in Cannes film festival 2004. The same year, Rie opened Taormina film festival with her second short film entitled Il Vestito (The dressed one). A short film set in Palermo (Sicily) which she also directed, wrote and acted in.
In 2005, she was cast as the lead role in a Luc Besson masterpiece, Angel-A, a wonderful French black and white feature film set in Paris.
In 2007, Rie published her first book. A book entitled Grafiske Historier including her photographs, illustrations and paintings that can be seen on this website. She has made brilliant self portraits that have been published in Vogue magazine. This talented woman enjoys drawing and painting nudes. She also produced her first feature film Human Zoo this year.
